He knew their talent deserved more, a chance to shine and captivate audiences. Thus, Encore was founded, a beacon for Black voices to be heard loud and clear.

But the world changes, and EncoreSTL adapted. 2020 wasn't just a new year, it was a turning point. The pandemic threatened to silence the very voices they championed. Yet, EncoreSTL refused to let the curtain fall. They saw a transferable magic in their production skills and embraced the power of digital media. Live streaming became their stage, and artists found a new platform to connect. This wasn't just survival, it was a powerful evolution – EncoreSTL.

EncoreSTL is more than theatre. It's a launchpad for the next generation. In 2019, the seed of hope blossomed with a free Drama Therapy camp, a collaboration with the Thomas Dunn Learning Center. This wasn't just about acting; it was about nurturing social-emotional skills, building confidence, and preparing young minds for the future. In June 2023, their dream finally had a physical address – Encore Theatre. This wasn't just a space, it was a symbol – a safe haven for Encore4Youth, a platform for artists, and a production powerhouse for their clients.
